Miami Dolphins predictions vs Tennessee Titans: Palm Beach Post experts make Week 4 picks

It has been a rough two weeks for the Miami Dolphins.

Back-to-back losses. Tua Tagovailoa suffering another concussion and going on Injured Reserve. Other starters going down with injuries.

Now comes a "Monday Night Football" game against the team that helped derail their 2023 season - the Tennessee Titans. Who can forget watching rookie QB Will Levis pick apart the defense, erase a 14-point Miami lead and rally Tennessee to victory, also on "Monday Night Football."

Who will the Dolphins start at quarterback? Does it really matter? Can the defense rise up and carry Miami?

All good questions without answers. But answer we must so here are this week's Palm Beach Post predictions:

Some folks may be glad to learn there are two games of “Monday Night Football.” This doesn’t figure to be an instant classic or a barn burner. We think Anthony Weaver’s defense smothers mayonnaise-loving Titans QB Will Levis. And we think the Dolphins establish a sound running game.

I've been around long enough, and been fooled long enough. Trying to predict when the Dolphins will snap out of their funk is living dangerously. Better to let them give you a reason to believe first.

Tom D'Angelo - Dolphins 3, Titans 2

This one will be ugly. The Dolphins are last in the league in scoring. The Titans are 28th. Combined, they are averaging fewer points than the Bills, Saints, Vikings and Cardinals. So, does it really matter if Mike Boyle or Tyler Huntley or an injured Skylar Thompson is the Dolphins' quarterback? Expect a Monday night snooze fest decided by a field goal over a safety.

Nick Pugliese - Dolphins 16, Titans 7

Another national TV loss and the wheels start coming off for the Dolphins. Think they go with the running QB, revamp the offense and hope the defense can rise up and make big plays. A team expected to be a Super Bowl contender can't start the season 1-3.
