Milbank, Aberdeen Central, Aberdeen Roncalli, Faulkton Area and Potter County coaches honored
Five area coaches have received 2024 Track and Field Coach of the Year honors from the South Dakota Cross Country and Track and Field Coaches Association (SDCCTFCA).
Area honorees include:
Eric Townsend of Milbank, Area 1 Class A Coach of the Year
Mark Stone of Aberdeen Roncalli, Area 1 Class A Assistant Coach of the Year
Chad Spicer of Faulkton Area, Area 1 Class B Coach of the Year
Jessica Larson of Potter County, Area 1 Class B Assistant Coach of the Year
Katie Anderson of Aberdeen Central, Class AA West Assistant Coach of the Year for Boys.
Other Class B Coaches
Area 2 — Ross Flemmer of Dell Rapids St. Mary, head coach; and Katlyn Menzie of Colman-Egan, assistant.
Area 3 — Kurt Stukel of Gregory, head coach; and Tyler Novak of Viborg-Hurley, assistant.
Area 4 — Ralph Kroetch of Philip, head coach; Sierra Kraft of Timber Lake, assistant; and Mike Keiffer of Lyman, Junior High-Middle School assistant.
SDHSCA Honors: Watertown's Corey Neale named Coach of Year in boys golf and former WHS coach Scott Ewald to join SDHSCA hall

Area 3 — Matt Maxon of Platte-Geddes, head coach; Holly Evans of Chamberlain, assistant; and Terice Ketelhut of Miller, Junior High-Middle School assistant.
Area 4 — Karen Karim of Custer, head coach; Tayton Vincent of Custer, assistant coach; and Brady Chase of Hill City, Junior High-Middle School Assistant.
All-State Softball Teams: Six area players named to Class B All-State softball team; two others earn honorable mention
