This Morning star Siân Welby has shared that she had to “wee in the middle of the road” after being stuck in traffic.

Like many across the country, the presenter decided to travel as part of the Bank Holiday Weekend, but traffic played a huge part in the journey as she was held up for nearly four hours.

This resulted in Siân needing to relieve herself on the way, with the presenter rushing to bushes on the side of the road as she searched for a covered spot.

“I had to do a wee in the middle of the road,” she recalled during Monday’s (May 27) episode of This Morning (via The Sun). “I had to run into the bush and I didn't dare go in there as it was full of brambles and nettles.”

Siân’s partner took a photo of the incident as she was searching for a spot on the side of the road, with the caption reading: “Oh god. My bladder gave in at 3 and a half hours.”

The story and photo proved a hit with her fellow presenters Dermot O’Leary, Josie Gibson and Gyles Brandreth, with the latter quipping: “Is this you coming back from your wee? Now I've seen it all. Morning television isn't what it used to be, is it?”

“The mystique is definitely gone. But who doesn't love a pee-pee rustique from time to time?” remarked Dermot, with Siân responding: “Do you know what? It was exhilarating.”

Siân, who was promoted to c0-host status earlier this year, announced in February that she was expecting her first child with fiancé Jake Beckett, sharing the news via Instagram with a sweet post.

“We have some news…..” she wrote in the caption, accompanying a photo as various snaps of their pregnancy journey were laid out on the table.

This Morning airs on weekdays.
