A motorcyclist is in a "life-threatening" condition after a crash in Leicester.

The collision took place on Friday at about 21:05 BST in New Parks Way, according to Leicestershire Police

The force confirmed the rider was "seriously injured" in the crash, which involved no other vehicles.

He was taken to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he remains in a "life-threatening condition", a spokesperson added.

They said the road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and was re-opened at about 01:53 on Saturday.
