DuJardine was arraigned via video Friday, Sept. 20, in the 58th District Court before Judge Bradley Knoll. Bond was set at $500,000. DuJardine is lodged at the Ottawa County Jail.

DuJardine is accused of crashing his vehicle into a woman, following her to a gas station and sexually assaulting her — according to OCSO.

Around 8:05 p.m. Sept. 8, the victim was traveling south on US-31 when DuJardine’s vehicle hit hers near Lake Michigan Drive, according to OCSO. DuJardine then followed the 24-year-old Grand Haven woman until she pulled into a gas station in the Stanton Corners area, thinking he might want to file a police report for the crash.

When the drivers exited their vehicles, DuJardine allegedly assaulted the victim by touching her inappropriately. She fought him off and called police while DuJardine fled, according to OCSO. The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics with AMR Ambulance. The Sentinel does not identify victims of sexual assault.

DuJardine was taken into custody on Sept. 9. He was initially jailed in Muskegon County for a parole violation from a CSC charge out of Ottawa County in 1988. After his arrest, detectives presented the case to the Ottawa County Prosecutor’s Office.

Formal charges were authorized Sept. 19, and DuJardine was taken to the Ottawa County Jail.
