Nelly Furtado's daughter Nevis might've helped the star save face with Gen Z on her upcoming album.

While discussing her next LP, 7, with NME recently, the "Promiscuous" singer, 45, shared a funny story about her 20-year-old daughter's A&R role in creating the new project, which apparently almost included an auto-tuned track against Nevis' wishes.

"She’d literally be like, 'Mom, why are you using auto-tune on this song?' You think it sounds cool but it doesn’t,” Furtado told the outlet with a laugh, also noting that Nevis' suggestion inspired her to re-think her album's direction.

“She also reminded me that people love my music because it’s three-dimensional," the "Maneater" artist added, "which made me dig even deeper."

7 marks Furtado's first album release in seven years. According to NME, the long hiatus can be attributed to parenthood, as the Grammy-winning singer welcomed both a son and another daughter since dropping 2017's The Ride.

“I hadn’t set foot in a studio in about three years, but something told me I needed to get back in,” she told the publication. "I knew I wanted to make an album that reminded me of the vibes and energy you get at a soundcheck when you hear your voice coming back at you loud from the speakers."

On July 11, Furtado announced her album in a lengthy Instagram post where she also unveiled her latest single, "Corazón." Of making the record, she shared, "This is going to sound strange and stupid but this isn’t a job for me. It’s super personal. Music is my whole language and life and love and blessing, so sometimes it’s hard for me to wrap that up in a bow 🎀."

"I first felt the energy of what 'Corazón' would become on a trip to Colombia with a couple of friends and then I kept on recording and four years later I have an album," she continued, "and it’s really always about the journey, honestly."

The Loose musician concluded the post by writing, "Anyways, I’ll TRY to explain the process in some photos and videos and storytelling but I know that I experienced it all and cried the tears and made the friendships and felt the joy and fear and pain and I learned a lot and that’s all that matters. What is cool though, every time I would doubt myself I would see the number 7 everywhere. 🫶🏼"

She signed the message to fans, "Bye , making more songs… ❤️‍🔥🫶🏼."
