Newport sign defender Glennon
Newport County have signed defender Anthony Glennon on a two-year deal.
The 24-year-old left-back is a free agent after being released by the Exiles' League Two rivals Grimsby Town at the end of last season.
Liverpool youth product Glennon featured 46 times for Grimsby since joining the Mariners on a permanent basis in June 2022 from Burnley.
Glennon said: “I’m delighted to get going. It’s a deal that’s been in the making for a long time.
“I spoke with Huw (owner Jenkins) and It was something that I was interested in right from the start, and I’m just buzzing that the deal is over the line now.
“I want to play every game, get into good form and hopefully help the team have a good season. Every time I’ve played at Rodney Parade I’ve really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great and I can’t wait to get going.”
