1 dead in explosion at Weare mulch facility

Sep. 18—One person died in an explosion inside a building at Haynes Mulch in Weare on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The name of the person who died had not been released as of Wednesday night. The state Medical Examiner's Office was set to conduct an autopsy Thursday, police said.

The Weare police responded to a report of an explosion around 2 p.m. at the business at 21 B and B Lane. Weare Fire Rescue and the state Fire Marshal's Office assisted police at the scene.

Weare police are investigating the cause of the explosion.
