Animal body parts strewn across I-635 in Balch Springs after truck ‘lost their load’

A load of animal body parts — apparently from chickens and alligators — spilled onto Interstate 635 in Balch Springs on Wednesday afternoon, causing three lanes to be closed for several hours while the mess was cleaned up, according to police and media sources.

At around 6 p.m., Balch Springs police posted a traffic hazard notice on Facebook, saying the lanes on southbound I-635 just before approaching the U.S. 175 ramp had to be shut down because of the debris on the roadway.

Balch Springs is about 16 miles southeast of Dallas.

Police told Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV that someone “lost their load.” The load belonged to DAR PRO solutions, according to WFAA’s report.

WFAA obtained a photo of the apparent alligator and chicken remains spread across the road. TxDOT cameras showed miles of backed-up traffic on southbound I-635.
