Attempted murder suspect captured after escape from San Bernardino County jail

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. - An attempted murder suspect who escaped from a San Bernardino County jail over the weekend is back in custody, according to the sheriff's department.
Deshaun Stamps, who had been in custody at the West Valley Detention Center since January 30, 2023, escaped from the jail Sunday during an outside recreation period, officials said.
Stamps was captured in Los Angeles the following day and taken into custody by the Los Angeles Police Department, according to the sheriff's department.
