Middle Georgia booklovers have exciting things coming this fall.

The Middle Georgia Regional Library announced in a Tuesday news release that it’s launching a new app to give readers easy access to digital content, streamlining the process of finding and borrowing ebooks and audiobooks.

The app, called Palace Project, will consolidate more than 85,000 ebooks and audiobooks that were previously scattered across several of the Middle Georgia Regional Library’s different apps and services. Existing services such as Hoopla, Libby and Kanopy will still offer ebooks, audiobooks and other digital content in addition to Palace Project.

The Middle Georgia Regional Library plans to grow Palace Project’s collection. It is currently adding titles available through ProQuest, which will expand Palace Project’s digital offerings by 340,000 titles, the news release said. Palace Project also has about 15,000 unique titles that are already available for download with no wait times or limited checkouts.

“We are excited to offer this convenient solution for patrons seeking eBooks and Audiobooks without the hassle of downloading several apps,” said Library Director Jennifer Lautzenheiser in the release. “By bringing our digital library collection together under the Palace Project umbrella, patrons now have a wider selection of titles in a single, easy-to-use app.”
