Sep. 6—COLUMBIA BASIN — There's something for everyone happening in the Basin this week. Here are just a few of the possibilities:

Sept. 6-7

Mattawa Fall Cleanup

Mattawa city officials will sponsor a "Fall Cleanup" from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Dropoff will be open to residents of Mattawa and the surrounding areas, including Desert Aire, Beverly, Schwana and south Grant County. Proof of residence will be required. Yard waste, appliances and furniture will be accepted, as well as vehicle tires. Charges vary depending on the size of the load. Dropoff will be at 710 First St., Mattawa, the city water tower.

Sept. 7

Concealed Carry Class

This four-hour comprehensive training course is designed to educate individuals on the laws and regulations surrounding the carrying of concealed firearms. This class covers essential topics such as the use of force, firearms safety, and the proper handling and storage of firearms, as well as the specific laws and any requirements for obtaining permits in Washington, Oregon, and Arizona. Upon class completion, attendees can apply for the above-mentioned permits and receive a WA-HB-1143 Gun Safety Certificate. Columbia Basin Barrel Racing Club Classic 5D Race

Downtown Moses Lake Economic Vitality Committee Meeting

Economic Vitality strengthens a community's existing economic assets while expanding and diversifying its economic base. Naughty Pottery Night

Tunes on Tuesday with The Welter Brothers

The Welter Brothers are a classic stringed instrument-wielding blood harmony duo. Jackson, a historian, delves as far back as the thirteenth century in the English/Scottish ballad tradition, infusing this wealth of knowledge into even the most modern arrangements. 'The View From Here' opening reception
