Centerpiece of stunning Lake Tahoe home is a 1,200-bottle wine room. See the ‘work of art’

What amenities must a $25 million Lake Tahoe house have?

For the designers of a 2021 home overlooking the 13th and 14th holes on a Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course, a glassed-in 1,200-bottle wine vault, in-home theater with eight custom seats and a glass sauna is a good starting point.

On the market now, the 9,000-square-foot showstopper — at 7018 Villandry Circle, Truckee, California — is one of the highest priced residences in the Martis Camp, a community located near Northstar ski resort and about 15 miles from the shores of Lake Tahoe. The next highest home there comes in at $18 million and the average sales price is about $8.8 milllion.

“(The property) offers future homeowners the ultimate in entertainment excellence,” Kim Kennedy, sales executive at Martis Camp Realty told the Sacramento Bee in an email. “With a media area featuring multiple TVs, a full bar, a theater and a golf simulator, each of these standout features alone would be impressive.

“Combined with an unparalleled setting, exquisite finishes, and meticulous attention to detail, the grandeur of this home’s spaces is truly awe-inspiring, especially the great room which has a 1,200-bottom wine room that serves as a remarkable centerpiece,” she added.

Sitting on 1.15 wooded acres, the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom residence, called Martis Camp Home 627, includes an office, gym and bunkroom with high-up views of the golf greens. The great room showcases tall ceilings and walls of glass for mountain views of the Carson Range.

For wine lovers and anybody who appreciates fine details, “the vault is a work of art,” the property listing states. See the video highlighting the wine vault and home here.

The wine vault is well located, next to a full bar and a game room with a large wall of TVs, ping pong table and access to the back patio. Out on the patio, there’s a hot tub, a pair of fire pits, a barbecue bay and a covered and heated dining area.

The big-screen theater with eight custom seats is found down the hall near a garage bay that’s been converted into a driving range simulator with gallery seating.

Walk to the opposite wing of the house and a modern kitchen awaits with a long, custom dining table made of glass and wood.

The primary suite sits beyond the glass sauna.

Near the entryway, a glass and metal staircase leads to a floor occupied by a gym and a spacious office that has access to a private deck.

From the upstairs bunkroom, there are views of Lookout Mountain near the ski resort.

The house was designed by Ward-Young Architecture and built by Crestwood Construction. Julie Johnson handled the interior design.
