New coffee shop with an eclectic atmosphere opens in Macon’s Ingleside Village

Ingleside Village now has a new spot to grab a cup of Joe.

Village Coffee, which did a soft opening on Monday, will officially open to the public Friday. The new coffee shop is housed in the old Oh Honey Baking Co. location which shut down abruptly in July.

“We are tired, but it feels great to open,” said owner Brandon Lawler.

Lawler said in a previous interview with The Telegraph he knew immediately that he wanted to continue what Oh Honey had started.

“Oh Honey proved that the neighborhood not only wanted but needed a coffee shop,” he said. “At Village Coffee we want to build on what they started with a comfortable safe space for all to come.”

One of the first things Lawler did was recruit several of the former employees of Oh Honey to come work for him at Village Coffee.

In an effort to make the new coffee shop a place where families can hang out and be comfortable, a small children’s library has been installed at the shop.

Along with coffee, Village Coffee will also offer breakfast items, lunch consisting of grilled cheese melts, pastries, ice cream, and select craft beers. Lawler said menus will start on the simpler side and be added to over time.

Hours of operation are Monday through Fri. 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sat. 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sun. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Village Coffee is at 2391 Ingleside Ave.
