Fall fun awaits with corn mazes, pumpkins, activities at Modesto-area farms. Where, when

It’s harvest season and with that comes a chance to pick and gather fall-themed fun across the Modesto region.

Large farms will offer a host of activities to welcome autumn, including fields of pumpkin patches and corn mazes. You also can find a zip line, pig races, train rides and much more. Most attractions are family-friendly.

Here’s a look at where to enjoy the activities and find plenty of pumpkins:

R.A.M. FARMS — Sept. 20-Oct. 31: There will be a corn maze at R.A.M. Farms in Turlock. Freaky Flashlight Nights through the maze are held Fridays and Saturdays (take your own flashlights) beginning at dusk. Also on site is a scary shed, tractor tires and hay maze. There will be a Halloween video shown nightly. There are a variety of pumpkins, and it’s free to wander the patch. Corn maze tickets are $10-$12; Freaky Flashlight Nights $14. DUTCH HOLLOW FARMS — Sept. 28-Oct. 31 (Closed Sept. 30-Oct. 2): There are a corn maze and several other activities, including a pumpkin patch, hamster wheels, wagon rides, critter barn, tire slide, zip lines, bounce pad and more. The pumpkin patch is free; attraction admission is $15; $12 seniors and military; free to ages 2 and under. There is a $30 season pass. FANTOZZI FARMS CORN MAZE & PUMPKIN PATCH — Sept. 28-Oct. 31: This Patterson farm’s attractions include corn mazes, hayrides, a corn seed pit, hay pyramid, pedal kart raceways, jumping pillow, pig races, petting zoo, obstacle courses and more. Corn cannons, a zombie paintball shooting range and cow train rides are available only Fridays through Sundays and for an additional fee. 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, 4 p.m.-10 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $15 Fridays-Sundays, free to age 2 and under; $12 Mondays-Thursdays, free to age 2 and under. There is a season pass for $40. DELL’OSSO FAMILY FARM — Oct. 4-31: This farm in Lathrop offers its corn maze along with pig races, a music stage and a Teeny Town where children can take part in interactive parades at various times (parents can join with younger children). There also will be a haunted castle, carousel, Dell’Osso Express Train, pony rides, Dell’Osso Speedways, animal zoo and more. A pumpkin patch and a variety of foods also will be available. Noon-7 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturdays-Sundays. Admission is $20.95 Mondays-Thursdays, $25.95 Fridays, $29.95 Saturdays-Sundays and free to age 2 and under.
