Fire burns several outbuildings near Paso Robles airport

Firefighters responded to a quarter-acre fire that burned several outbuildings near the Paso Robles Municipal Airport on Monday afternoon, according to Cal Fire.

The fire started at approximately 4:20 p.m. in the 5100 block of Jardine Road, according to the police scanner app Pulse Point.

At least nine firefighting units from Cal Fire San Luis Obispo and two from Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to the scene, according to Pulse Point.

Wildfire cameras and eyewitness photos showed a helicopter on site dropping water on the area.

At 4:48 p.m., Cal Fire posted on social media platform X that the fire’s forward progress had stopped at around a quarter of an acre.

Units expected to be on mop-up for another hour, Cal Fire said.

The cause was unknown and under investigation.
