Foster/Adopt Q&A event

Sep. 11—Child Protective Services (CPS) is partnering with Mid-Cities Church, One Accord for Kids and High Sky Children's Ranch for a Foster/Adopt Q&A event from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Mid-Cities Church (Youth Auditorium), 8700 TX-191, Midland.

Children and teens in foster care are waiting for compassionate individuals and families to foster, adopt, advocate for and support them.

CPS Foster/Adoption Specialist Ginger Jackson will join a panel discussion on how the public can help children in foster care waiting for loving families to foster, adopt, advocate and support them by providing things such as babysitting, hot meals or transportation.

Currently in Midland and Ector counties, there are only 50 licensed foster/adoptive homes. Of the 169 children in substitute care, 75 percent are placed out of their home county.
