The 2024 Paris Olympics are officially over following a breathtaking performance from French artist Yseult to close out the vibrant spectacle.

After the closing ceremony Aug. 11 briefly traveled to Venice Beach in California for performances from Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Billie Eilish as a taste of what’s to come during the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, the broadcast wrapped the Summer Games with a ceremonial extinguishing of the Olympic flame.

French gold medalist swimmer Léon Marchand had the honor of putting out the flame before Yseult took the stage for the last performance of the evening and delivered her version of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.”

As NBC’s Mike Tirico explained on the broadcast, “My Way” was originally written by French artists — composer Jacques Revaux and lyricists Gilles Thibaut and Claude François — before Paul Anka acquired the music rights and wrote new lyrics, which Sinatra famously sang.

During the final moments of the Summer Games, Yseult put her spin on the classic, belting out a soulful and haunting rendition.

The 29-year-old, who was a runner-up on the French version of “American Idol” in 2014 and has released four albums, appeared on stage in a dramatic all-black custom Dior outfit, according to Vogue, with a matching hat and gloves before crooning the opening lyrics.

She glided down the stage as the song progressed, nailing the grand notes. As she held the final pitch of the song, fireworks decorated the sky.

“Yes, it was my way,” she sang as she stared at the firework display.

In an interview with Vogue published Aug. 11, Yseult said she felt "emotional" and "proud" of the monumental moment.

“Proud of myself and proud of my team,” she said. “It’s an honor to sing in my country, surrounded by beautiful souls.”

Reaction to ‘My Way’ at the closing ceremony

Viewers on X complimented Yseult’s voice and her farewell to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

One X user praised the musician and said, “She killed this song!!”

“Yseult is EATING ‘My Way’ UP, y’all, I’m finna cry. She sounds gorgeous!” one said.

Another tweeted, “This woman signing ‘My Way’ is utterly phenomenal. No words — just stunning.”

A third asked, “Who is this goddess singing My Way? I adore her voice.”

The same X user later sent a follow-up tweet that said, “For those not in the know (like me), the singer’s name is Yseult. She now has a new fan in me.”

Many were thrilled that the French artist was being spotlighted on a global scale.

One fan of the singer wrote, “Y’all need to get into this french icon called yseult her voice is INSANE.”

Yseult’s recent release is a collaboration with artists Sevdaliza and Pablo Vittar called “Alibi.” On Aug. 2, she celebrated the single landing at No. 95 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Instagram.

She teased new music in the comments, writing that fan’s can expect her next release, “Mental,” on Sept. 20.
