And the first 100 customers get a free scoop, and anyone can get one free topping all weekend, according to owner Saad Ahmed.

The new shop will be at 2055 Lantern Ridge. Little Spoon will be open Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Little Spoon will serve 12 flavors of popular Crank & Boom ice cream, as well as offer pints for sale.

“We are so excited to be a part of the new concept, Little Spoon Creamery,” Toa Green said. “We’re really excited to bring Crank & Boom to Richmond in this way.”

Ahmed, who is based in Atlanta and owns doughnut and pizza restaurants, said he was visiting friends and family in Lexington and they went to get Crank & Boom at the location on Manchester in the Distillery District.

“I said, ‘I love it, this would be great if we could do something like this in a shop,’” Ahmed said. “And now we are. ... We’re creating our own menu, something definitely unique.”

He worked with Crank & Boom owners Toa and Mike Green, who have two of their own locations in Lexington.

““It really just started with a friend calling about an opportunity to work together with this location in Richmond. There is a thriving community in Richmond and the location is a fantastic spot to have a local ice cream place,” Toa Green said. “We’ve never offered our product to another operator in this way where they will be scooping our ice cream. So it’s fun to find new ways to bring Crank & Boom to our fans in a new market.”

Green said that while she’s always open to more Crank & Boom locations, she is focusing on her family at the moment.

“We are wholesale partners with Little Spoon Creamery. They carry our ice cream just as our other wholesale partners do — like Whole Foods, Good Foods, Wallace Station, Smithtown Seafood and Zim’s Cafe,” Green said. “Crank & Boom will not be operating this location. They are their own concept and team.”

The shop also will have house-made soft-serve in four flavors and coffee drinks.

A single scoop will be $6, a double scoop will be $8. You also could get a flight of four scoops for $15. Soft-serve will be $5, with soft-serve concoctions such as S’mores or Apple Pie for $7.

Cookies and brownies also will be available, as well as sundaes and milkshakes.

With coffee drinks on hand, the shop will also serve affogatos (coffee with ice cream) for $7.
