Man and woman found dead in arroyo in Santa Fe
Oct. 1—Two people were fatally shot, then left in a vehicle inside an arroyo Monday night.
According to a Santa Fe Police Department Facebook post, at about 11:30 p.m., police responded to a call of people being loud underneath a bridge in the area of Siringo Road and Camino Consuelo, near Cerrillos. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle in an arroyo and a man armed with a firearm. The man fled before being quickly arrested.
His identity has yet to be released.
The social media post states officers then found a man and woman dead with "at least one gunshot wound."
"We are completing notice of next of kin at this time," police said.
The case remains under investigation and the road will remain closed until the "scene is processed," police said.
