One killed in Hartman Run Road wreck

Oct. 1—One person is dead following a wreck Tuesday morning on Hartman Run Road.

According to a press release from the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department, deputies were dispatched for a call about a two-vehicle accident with entrapment. Police said a 2005 Subaru Legacy was traveling in the southbound lane and a 2015 Ford E450 Super Duty Box Truck was traveling in the northbound lane when the Subaru Legacy crossed the center line into the opposite lane of traffic, striking the box truck head on.

All three occupants were transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital where the driver of the Subaru died of his injuries.

Sheriff's deputies were assisted at the scene by Morgantown Fire Department, Brookhaven VFD and Mon EMS.

The accident remains under investigation and no names have been released.
