Suspect found dead after 17-hour standoff with police in Tarzana
LOS ANGELES - An armed suspect who was in a standoff with police for nearly 17 hours was found dead Friday morning, officials said.
SkyFOX was over an apartment complex along Etiwanda Avenue in Tarzana Thursday evening when the standoff started. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to the home after receiving a domestic violence call.
Officials did not say if there were victims in the alleged domestic incident or if innocent people were in danger from the ongoing standoff.
An LAPD SWAT team was called to the scene to negotiate with the suspect to surrender.
Police said they were eventually found dead inside the apartment around 3 a.m. Friday. It is unclear how the suspect died.
No other details were released.
