West romps, 43-0; Pelham beats Bow to extend win streak

SATURDAY HIGH SCHOOLS

Division II

West 43, Pembroke 0: Elias Abreau and Jarome Henert returned interceptions for touchdowns, KeShawn Foster scored two TDs — a 12-yard reception from quarterback Gio Doria and a 14-yard run — and the visiting Blue Knights forced running time with a romp in their Division II opener. Abreau, who also scored on a 12-yard run, returned his pick-six 40 yards. Henert's went for 50 yards, and the junior dove to the pylon for the TD. West led 29-0 at halftime.

Pelham 34, Bow 13: Running back Junior MacKinnon ran for two touchdowns and caught a TD pass to help Pelham extend the program's winning streak to 42 games by beating Bow in the Division II opener for each team. The Pythons were coached by school athletic director and former Goffstown head coach Justin Hufft after John Trisciani resigned Friday, one day before the opener.

Milford at Plymouth

Division I

Windham 52, Timberlane 7: Quarterback Kevin Murphy ran for a TD and completed 8 of 10 pass for 171 with touchdown pass of 18 and 51 yards to Jack Koutrobis in Windham's season-opening home win. Reid Lambert returned an interception 16 yards for a touchdown.

SATURDAY COLLEGE

UNH 21, Holy Cross 20: In Worcester, Mass., Isaac Seide's 1-yard TD run, followed by Nick Mazzie's extra-point kick, gave the Wildcats a fourth-quarter lead they wouldn't relinquish. Seide finished with 18 carries for 161 yards. UNH quarterback Seth Morgan passed for two TDs, both to Logan Tomlinson. The Wildcats improved to 1-1 after losing to FBS member Central Florida last Thursday.

FRIDAY HIGH SCHOOLS

Division I

Alvirne 35, Manchester Central 14: In his first varsity game, junior running back Michael Landmesser rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Broncos on opening night at Gill Stadium in Manchester. Alvirne quarterback Charlie Crawford ran for a touchdown and passed 5 yards to Ryan Rocheleau for another. Jeremiah Yi had two interceptions for the winners. Central scored on a 10-yard run by Trevor Wong and a reception by Romello Diaz.

Bedford 30, Nashua North 3: At Stellos Stadium in Nashua, Brody Helton ran for 167 yards and two touchdowns, Jack Maye threw for three more and two-time defending Division I champ Bedford picked up where it left off last season.

Londonderry 30, Salem 7: In Haverhill, Mass., the Lancers received rushing touchdowns from running back Adrian Cruz, quarterback Sam Ogden, quarterback Alex Villa and running back Jordan Ball and opened its season by beating the Blue Devils. Kevin Todisco scored Salem's TD on a 98-yard run.

Exeter 42, Dover 12: Daniel Batstone had career night by rushing for 164 yards on 15 carries with five touchdowns to lead Exeter. Batstone also had a sack/forced fumble and a 12-yard reception.

Keene 42, Spaulding 7: In Keene, sophomore Tyler Lindsay scored the Red Raiders' TD on a 20-yard run.

Providence (R.I.) Central 12, Memorial 7: In Providence, Jacob's Schuff's long TD run and Brady Harrison's extra-point kick accounted for the Crusaders' scoring.

Division II

Trinity 27, Hanover 21, OT: In Hanover, Ollie Service passed for 153 passing yards and a TD for the Pioneers, who have moved up after winning the Division III championship last season. Connor Bishop added a 30-yard TD catch and an interception, Dom Detone added 58 rushing yards and a TD, and Davey Durepo returned a kickoff 90 yards for a score. David Frechette scored two TDs for Hanover.

Gilford 41, Sanborn 2: Dillon Simes rushed 11 times for 67 yards for Sanborn and Jeremy DiPanfilo recorded four tackles and Sanborn's safety.
