They may be shiny, but they're not made of glass. Some McDonald's customers were disappointed to learn that unlike previous promotions, the new cups in the Collector's Meal are made of plastic.
In Canada, however, they're made of glass.

In a recent news release, the fast food company announced four glass cups would be available to buy as part of its 2024 "Collector's Edition" at participating McDonald's locations in Canada. Each item of glassware costs roughly $3 plus tax when ordering an Extra Value Meal, the company said.
What's on the drinking glasses at McDonald's in Canada?
The drinking glasses feature similar nostalgic characters as do their plastic American counterparts — Barbie, Hot Wheels, Hello Kitty, Snoopy, TY Beanie Babies — with one notable exception: none of the drinking glasses appear to be painted.
