Oreo has been on another level with its launches lately. So far this year, it’s mostly been about the mint chip flavor of the iconic cookie—even bringing it to the cereal aisle—but we can’t forget about the “Star Wars” cookies and the (slightly unhinged) Sour Patch Kids release from the spring.

But, if you thought a Sour Patch Kids-flavored Oreo was wild, just wait until you hear about Oreo’s latest collab. Oreo and Coca-Cola have joined forces for what might be the biggest partnered release of the year so far.

Oreo & Coca-Cola Team up for First-Of-Its-Kind Release

This month, there are two new products on shelves: an Oreo-inspired Coca-Cola soda and a Coke-inspired Oreo cookie. Seriously, the iconic brands teamed up to create the perfect snacking duo using one another’s flavors.

The Coca-Cola Oreo Zero Sugar pop has the same crisp and refreshing flavors you love from the OG Coke, but with the sweet addition of flavors inspired by Oreos. The new Coke draws from both the chocolatey cookies and sweet creme for the soda.

The Oreo Coca-Cola Sandwich cookies have the classic cookies and cream flavor mixed with sweet Coke. Oreo’s new limited-time flavor will feature one classic chocolate cookie—infused with Coca-Cola syrup—and one red-colored golden cookie sandwiched with traditional white-colored creme.

The chocolate cookie is stamped with the Oreo embossment, while the red cookie is embossed with the Coca-Cola logo. Both cookies will also have popping candies in them to simulate the fizzy carbonation of an ice-cold Coke.

You can find the Coca-Cola Oreo Zero Sugar Limited Edition soda and the Oreo Coca-Cola Sandwich Cookie at retailers nationwide.

In addition to the new Oreo cookies and Coca-Cola flavor, the fan-favorite brands are also releasing all-new merch to celebrate the launch. The retailer Forever21 will sell new “Bestie Mode” apparel, bags, drinkware, and notebooks starting in mid-September.

This might just be the strangest yet most exciting collaboration we’ve seen in 2024. So, of course, we had to get our hands on both new products. Here's our review.

We Tried the Coca-Cola Oreo Zero Sugar and the Oreo Coca-Cola Sandwich Cookies

We tried both the Oreos and Coke—because what better way to wash down Coca-Cola-flavored Oreos than with Oreo-flavored Coca-Cola?

When you open the Oreo packet, you're blasted with the unmistakable smell of sweet, syrupy Coke. The cookies themselves are where the soda flavor lives, with the classic Oreo creme in the middle. Because the Coca-Cola syrup is only infused in the chocolate cookie and the other cookie is just a Golden Oreo dyed red, the Coke flavor isn't as powerful as it smells.

The flavor is still there, but between the sweet creme and popping candies, it gets a little lost. I wish the Coca-Cola syrup was used in both cookies to give more of a soda flavor profile.

The Oreo-flavored Coke, on the other hand, is spot on. Allrecipes news editor, Courtney Kassel, describes it "as if they dropped some Oreos in a Coke to soak before straining them out." It's a cookies and cream-flavored Coke to a T.

"They should give these flavor scientists who worked on this a raise—and a job offer at NASA," Kassel says. And she's right. Not only is this collab out of the box enough to stir up excitement, but it's also a hit—so we can understand why customers are running to the store to try it out because we are right there with them.
