Packers fans can fly nonstop from Green Bay or Appleton to half the team's away games

ASHWAUBENON - Green Bay Packers fans will be able to fly nonstop from Green Bay or Appleton to half of the eight away games during the Packers' 2024 season.

Delta Air Lines and Allegiant Air both have added to their regular schedule nonstop flights from Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport and Appleton International Airport, respectively.

In total, the two airlines have scheduled five nonstop, round-trip flights to the four Packers away games in Jacksonville, Nashville, Los Angeles and Seattle. The flights will not come cheap, though. All five nonstop flights have starting prices above $367.79, the average price for a round-trip flight in the United States according to an April USA TODAY report.

Direct flights for four out of eight Packers away games this season continues the recent trend of airlines adding special flights for Packers fans, said Marty Piette, the Green Bay airport director. He said Packers fans continue to back up their reputation for traveling well and airport staff continue to notify airlines when opportunities for added service arise.

“Part of that is just asking, bringing it to their attention and making sure airlines are aware of the opportunity,” Piette said.

Will airlines add more flights to more Packers away games this season?

It’s possible but growing unlikely.

Airlines that serve Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport often finalize their fall/winter schedules by late June or early July, Piette said. He said airlines can add capacity in less-noticeable ways, too, like using a bigger jet for existing flights on away game weekends.

“We’ve probably seen what we’re going to see (added to the schedule),” Piette said. “But that’s not to say something won’t pop up.”
