"Secrets of Ohio" is the theme of Lynd Fruit Farm's 2024 corn maze, the farm announced Aug. 25.

This year’s maze invites visitors to explore Ohio’s rich history and folklore in an immersive, old-fashioned adventure perfect for friends and family.

The 2024 corn maze includes a sprawling 8-acre scavenger hunt-style corn maze, drawn to feature remarkable legacies of Ohio including Neil Armstrong on the moon, an Amish horse and buggy, the Serpent Mound, the John Rankin (Underground Railroad) House, and many more.

For those who prefer an easier jaunt, a 1-acre Mastodon Maze provides a shorter journey through the corn.

Wagon rides, bounce houses, apple cannons, and trains run throughout the Fall Fest until 6 p.m. Other fabulous fall touches include games, live music, and special visitors such as ponies, rabbits, and the Living Scarecrow. The maze remains open after dark, offering a slightly more heart-pounding experience with the Homer giants and Victoria Woodhull roaming throughout. Fifteen rentable campfire sites provide a place to relax and enjoy s’mores and good conversation under the stars.

Lynd’s has invited local artist, Clarence Adrian McKinney II, to design two larger-than-life Mastodons constructed from corn stalks to highlight the150 prehistoric herbivores that roamed our land. Guests will walk underneath the touching trunks of the towering creatures into the land of ice-age proboscideans. Those journeying through the smaller maze can see a life-size replica of a mastodon tooth, hear a mastodon’s roar, and experience Mastodon jaw-dropping fun facts.

“This year’s theme is a wonderful way to honor our state’s rich heritage while providing a fun and interactive experience for families,” said Amy Pausch, Director of Laughs & Smiles at Lynd Fruit Farm. “We can’t wait for visitors to discover the many surprises and historical stories woven into our maze, whether by day or by night.”

The Corn Maze and Fall Festival is open Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Sept. 6-Oct. 27. Extraordinary Days are scheduled for adults and children with cognitive and/or physical disabilities, autism, Down Syndrome, or any other factor that makes it wonderful to have a caring staff and small crowd. Two of the events are scheduled during school hours to accommodate classrooms and adult care groups.

Visitors are encouraged to note the address: 9851 Morse Road SW, Pataskala, Ohio. Warm layers, walking shoes, and brightly colored flannel are also encouraged.
