Who will perform at this year's Laurel Hill Bluegrass Festival?

Bluegrass musicians and music fans will return to Somerset on Saturday and Sunday for the 16th annual Laurel Hill Bluegrass Festival at Laurel Hill State Park. The free, family-friendly event is sponsored by Friends of Laurel Hill.

The music begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, with performances scheduled through 5 p.m. by Moose Lodge Revival, Sweaty Already String Band and Caledonia.

Food and artisan vendors will be on-site throughout the day, and children's activities will be offered from 1-4 p.m.

Sunday's events begin at 8:30 a.m. with the annual Mountain Laurel 5K, a dog-and-people-friendly run and walk around the park. Proceeds from this event support projects in the park. A course map and the registration form are available at the event website.

A Sunday church service begins at 10 a.m. on the main stage, then bluegrass music resumes at 11 a.m. Performances by the Tussey Mountain Moonshiners, Nu-Blu and the Tiger Maple String Band continue until 5 p.m.

The food and artisan vendors and children's activities continue on Sunday as well.

This year, chairs and tents will not be set up for festival guests to use; however, guests may bring their own chairs, blankets and individual pop-up canopies to set up at the festival for their shade and comfort, according to a festival announcement.

Visitors are also encouraged to pick up this year's Laurel Hill Bluegrass Festival T-shirt at the Friends of Laurel Hill tent.
