Playful Rottweiler Proves No Stick Is Too Big for This Mighty Breed

As a dog parent, I can say that I have spent way too much money on toys for my pup over the year. Some she loves and were well worth the money. Some she destroyed (even though she had the time of her life doing it). Some she totally ignored after the first day. But I don't know if I have ever purchased a toy that she loves more than the ones she finds in the backyard for free: Sticks, of course. She loves running to go fetch a stick more than she does when it's a ball, and when we go on walks, she's constantly stopping to pick up a good stick she spots, even if it's way too big for her!

Speaking of sticks that are too big for dogs — apparently, that's a universal thing. After seeing this Rottweiler choose one that might be more suitable for an animal the size of an elephant, I am impressed that he was able to pull this off!

In this video from @lloydtherottie on Instagram, we see a Rottweiler pup named Lloyd dragging a huge stick out of the water — this thing was more like a tree than just a stick!

And even though his mom told him that it would be too big for him, Lloyd didn't get discouraged one bit. He stood on shore and kept pulling until he was victorious. The stick came out of the water, and he looked so proud of himself for making it happen. Good boy, Lloyd.

"After all this time she still doesn’t get that there is no such thing as a 'too big' when it comes to sticks," says the caption, which was written from Lloyd's point of view.

Maybe after this show of strength, his mom will finally understand that no stick is off limits to Lloyd.

How Strong Are Rottweilers?

There's a reason that Rottweilers are often used as guard dogs — not only can even the sweetest among them look a bit intimidating, but they're also wildly strong.

According to what animal behaviorist Sarah-Jane White told Country Living, the strength of dogs is often measured in PSI, or pounds per square inch, and can determine the strength of their bite.

When it comes to Rotties, that number is over 300!

"The Rottweiler is a powerful breed of dog that is known for its strength and intelligence. With a bite force of 328 PSI, this breed can definitely hold its own against other animals," White said. "Often used as a guard dog, the Rottweiler is a breed that you don't want to mess with! They make lovable companions with the right training."

Knowing this, Lloyd's mom really shouldn't have underestimated him. There's a very good chance he can pick up sticks much bigger and heavier than this one!
