Pocono 2025 race to be part of new in-season tournament

A new date isn't the only thing that'll be different for NASCAR fans in the Poconos in 2025.

In addition to the Great American Getaway 400 taking place in late June, the race will be broadcast exclusively via Amazon Prime Video. This is a part of a seven-year media rights deal that was announced in November 2023, where Prime Video became NASCAR's first "fully direct-to-consumer partner," per the press release from NASCAR.

“Pocono Raceway would like to welcome Amazon to ‘The Tricky Triangle,’” Pocono Raceway President Ben May said in a statement. “Prime Video’s track record of producing high-quality sporting events paired with Pocono’s unique personality and 50-plus year Cup Series history is something we think the fans will truly enjoy. Our team is excited to be a part of this new chapter in NASCAR broadcast history.”

June's race will be the last in a five-race stretch covered by Prime Video in 2025. The coverage starts Memorial Day Weekend with the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte, followed by Nashville, Michigan and Mexico City before the coverage ends in the Poconos.

Pocono part of NASCAR's inaugural in-season tournament

The last three races aired on Prime Video – Nashville, Michigan and Pocono – will also be a part of NASCAR's inaugural in-season tournament. Those three races will determine seeding for the 32-driver bracket. Tiebreakers will be determined by the next-best finish, followed by the season points position.

After Pocono, the next five races will be part of the tournament: Saturday night in Atlanta, followed by the Chicago Street Race, Sonoma, Dover, and concludes with the tournament finale at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Brickyard 400. The tournament winner will receive a $1 million prize.
