Police: 2 dead after head-on crash in NKY Sunday

Two people from Independence, Kentucky are dead after a head-on collision in Taylor Mill Sunday afternoon, Taylor Mill police said in a news release.

Around 12:25 p.m. on Sunday, Taylor Mill and Kenton County police officers responded to the crash at Pride Parkway and Old Taylor Mill Road.

A silver Hyundai was traveling southbound on Pride Parkway when it veered into the northbound lane, striking a black BMW SUV, police said.

The driver of the Hyundai, 36-year-old Joey Stiltner, and the passenger, Kellie Hutchison, 37, both from Independence, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to investigators.

The BMW driver, Edward Mawl, 58, and his passenger, Angela Harris, 56, also both from Independence, were taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center for treatment and later released, the release said.

The Kenton County Police Department's Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash to determine why the Hyundai swerved into the opposite lane.
