Aurora girls track & field delivered a big-time performance at the Kurt Frankel Wolverine Invite, winning the team title.

Isabella Cicero earned runner-up honors in the 100 (13.06), 200 (26.55) and 400 (1:00.79) dashes, while fellow sophomore Isabelle Leindecker added top-four finishes in the 200 and 400.

Like Cicero, Greenmen senior Kassidy Fry earned runner-up honors in multiple events: the 100 hurdles (16.36) and the high jump (5-00).

The Greenmen also racked up a ton of points by earning top-four finishes in all four relays, including a 4x400 championship.

The Aurora boys excelled as well Saturday, earning runner-up honors, behind only Olmsted Falls.

That included Luke Geyer, Quincy John, Luke McGovern and Ishaan Shaik winning the 4x100 with Geyer and Shaik also earning runner-up honors as part of the Greenmen's 4x200. McGovern took third in the 100 (11.40) and fourth in the 200 (24.25), while John was the runner-up in the 200 (23.94).

Jaxson Rhea added top-five finishes in both throwing events: shot put (3rd, 41-06.25) and discus (5th, 101-10).

Baseball

Ravenna 12, John Hay 0

Jeriah Miller tossed a one-hit shutout to lift the Ravens to their third straight win. Miller struck out nine hitters while not walking a single batter.

Rylan Eldredge went 2 for 3 with two RBIs while James Evans also had two hits for Ravenna.

Jackson-Milton 5, Mogadore 1

The Wildcats fell despite a triple apiece by Tanner Buso, Austin Constantine and Corey Lehner.

Dylan Benedum also excelled with 4 ⅔ innings of relief, allowing a single run on a walk and four hits.

Late Friday

Aurora 3, Highland 2

The Greenmen picked up a huge win in a battle of last year's Suburban American co-champs, led by four strong innings from Alex Kaczmarek and three scoreless innings of relief combined from Nate Albanese and Jayce Unverferth. Tommy Hach, Ben Lukasik and Dom Trivisonno drove in a run apiece for Aurora.

Southeast 19, Akron Garfield 0

Ten Pirates players recorded hits, including Braydee Blankenship reaching base in all five of his plate appearances with three hits and two walks. Logan West added a double, three runs and three RBIs.

Windham 11, Lordstown 0

Jordan Ridenbaugh and Anthony Paolella had three hits apiece to lead the Bombers, with Dylan McCune, Nick Hopper and Gavin Kiser also contributing multiple hits.

Jack Eye excelled at the plate, with a double and three RBIs, and on the mound, tossing a one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts in six innings.

Softball

Aurora 10, Mentor 0

Madeline Dalessandro went 3 for 3 with two runs and two RBIs while McKennah Metzger and Sophie Retton had two doubles apiece for the Greenmen Saturday.

Metzger also tossed a three-hit shutout.

Aurora 7, Mentor 6

Metzger got the chance to pick up a save, getting the final two outs for the Greenmen. The senior also went 3 for 4 with a double and a homer, two RBIs and three runs scored.

Retton also had a spectacular day at the plate, going 4 for 4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs.

Field 13, Massillon 5

Maddie Burge homered twice and got the win on the mound, moving to 10-0 this season.

Lilli Sutkowy added a pair of doubles for the Falcons, who also got a single and a double from Tia Ulrich.

Dover 11, Field 0

The Tornadoes handed the Falcons their first loss, limiting Field to three hits. Dover took control early, scoring multiple runs in each of the first three innings.

Southeast 15, Lake Center 1

The Pirates scored multiple runs in the first three innings, including six in the first. Ava Stephens homered and drove in five runs for Southeast, while Norah Truex tossed three no-hit innings in relief. Morgan Muncy reached in all four of her plate appearances, with two singles and two walks, while Lexi Morris went 3 for 4.

Late Friday

Aurora 10, Cuyahoga Falls 0

Metzger doubled, homered and tossed four scoreless innings, scattering a single hit and no free passes.

Lailah Bohanan added a pair of doubles while Sophie Schecterman went 3 for 3.

Waterloo 13, Springfield Local 3

The Vikings (3-4, 3-3 Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Scarlet Tier) surged to a big lead with nine runs in the top of the first and that was plenty for freshman pitcher Kristlyn Kehrer to pick up her third win.

Morgan Sweitzer led the Waterloo lineup with a double, two singles and two RBIs while Taryn Brown, Regan Heilman and Kehrer added two singles apiece.

Ravenna 14, Lake Center 9

Whitney Holmes struck out 11 batters and went 4 for 5 at the plate. Shyanna Dillbeck also went 4 for 5 while Madeline Fedor and Angelina Fuller added three hits apiece.

Rootstown 2, Canton Central Catholic 1 (9)

Shelbie Krieger allowed a single hit over five scoreless innings while Chloe Gardner (two scoreless innings) and Katie Sisley (one unearned run in two innings) were highly effective in relief.

Natalie Hammerschmidt and Boston Silveus had three hits apiece for the Rovers, while Lilly Kamenash, Shelbie Krieger, Grace Luli and Abby White also had multiple hits.

Field 12, Green 1

The Falcons erupted for 14 hits, including three Maddie Burge singles, two Delilah Rahe doubles and a Lilli Sutkowy single and triple.
