Reese Witherspoon Walks the Emmys Red Carpet in a Very Demure, Very Floral Strapless Gown
Reese Witherspoon is up against her The Morning Show co-star Jennifer Aniston in the Best Actress in a Drama Series category this evening at the Emmys. And the actress took the occasion to have a very demure fashion moment on the show’s red carpet. Witherspoon posed in a strapless black Dior dress adorned with gold florals. Her hair was styled up in a Cinderella-esque bun.
The star also posed with her real-life friend and Big Little Lies co-star Laura Dern, who scored a nomination tonight as the executive producer of Palm Royale, up for Outstanding Comedy Series.
Throughout her career, Witherspoon has received seven Emmy nominations and one win as a producer on Big Little Lies, which won Outstanding Limited Series at the 2017 ceremony.
Witherspoon spoke to People in April about how working with actresses like Aniston and Dern changed her life. “One really pivotal part of my career is collaborating with other women,” she explained. “Whether that’s working with Nicole Kidman or Jennifer Aniston or Oprah Winfrey or Kerry Washington or Laura Dern, I’ve been enormously blessed to work with these incredibly talented women who share their dreams with me, and we really carry a lot of water with each other, helping each other and supporting each other in front of the camera and behind the scenes.”
She also offered some advice to her younger self. “I would say it’s all going to work out,” she began. “I worried a lot when I was young, and I was maybe a little bit too serious, but maybe being a little too serious is what made me figure out how to be funny. Because sometimes I was so serious about a part, it actually became comical.”
