The internet went into a frenzy this week after Reese Witherspoon and Kevin Costner were rumored to be dating in the wake of their respective divorces, and now fans are finding out if there is any truth to the story.
For anyone who was hoping the rumors were true: we are sorry to inform you that they have officially been debunked.
A rep for Witherspoon, 47, confirmed that there is nothing going on between the two A-listers, telling Page Six in a statement, "This story is completely fabricated and not true."
It all started after a report from New Idea published a story about a budding romance between Witherspoon and the Yellowstone star, 68, who both recently divorced their partners Jim Toth and Christine Baumgartner, respectively.
The false report claimed that Costner "had his eye on Reese" ever since she won an Oscar for 2006's Walk the Line, and that since they are now both single, the stars "have hit it off" and are "extremely compatible."
But we now know that there isn't actually anything romantic going on between the pair, and yet another rumor about Witherspoon's love life has been disproven.
It's not the first time the Big Little Lies star has been linked to another recently divorced star, as fans previously thought she was heating something up with Tom Brady amid his divorce from Gisele Bündchen. Reps for both Witherspoon and the football legend confirmed at the time that the two had never even met.
Witherspoon has yet to confirm any romantic interests since splitting from Toth, 53, who she married in 2011. The former spouses share son Tennessee James, 11, in addition to Witherspoon's two other children, Ava, 24, and Deacon, 20, with first husband Ryan Phillippe.
As for Costner, he just recently settled his divorce from Baumgartner after eight years of marriage. The exes share three children together: Cayden, 16, Hayes, 15, and Grace, 13, in addition to his adult children Annie, 39, Lily, 37, and Joe, 35, with ex-wife Cindy Silva, and son Liam, 26, with former partner Bridget Rooney.
