Report shows details of Cincinnati Metro bus crash that left 1 seriously injured

A crash report shows what happened in a crash that involved a Cincinnati Metro bus in Downtown earlier this week.

The report, obtained by The Enquirer from Cincinnati police, shows that at 6:37 a.m. Tuesday, the driver of a 2009 Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on West Seventh Street before running a red light at the intersection with Elm Street.

The Metro bus, which was crossing the intersection while traveling northbound on Elm Street, then crashed with the Civic, causing it to hit a nearby light pole.

The driver of the Civic sustained serious injuries and was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, the report says. His status as of Friday afternoon is unknown.

The bus driver suffered no injuries while the bus' sole passenger suffered minor ones.

The crash closed the roadway for nearly two hours.
