Rescued French Bulldog's First Visit to the Pet Store Ends with a New-Found Treasure
If you require a little treat to keep you feeling motivated most days, you're not alone. Whether it's buying takeout coffee or buying that cute thing you've had your eye on at the store, these little rewards can feel fulfilling and joyful. The same goes for your dog, too!
Most dogs' ears perk up at the sound of the word 'treat,' and plenty of pups will jump at the opportunity for a round of tug-of-war. Whether your furry friend is food-motivated or praise-motivated, it's easy to see why bringing them to the pet store is one of the most exciting things you can do. There are so many sights and sounds, and they can even pick out a treat just like Emmett, the rescued French Bulldog!
Emmett recently got to pick out his own toy to celebrate being adopted by his foster parents, but the trip included a few twists and turns when he became indecisive. Even so, Emmett's dad @bigjuicyjack documented the June 11 shopping trip and how it ended with a new treasure--a classic choice-- in tow!
Good choice, Emmett! Lamb Chop is a favorite among dogs everywhere, and it's nice to see that the legacy lives on. Even dogs who aren't as playful can appreciate the comforting fluff and interesting textures of a plush squeaky toy, after all, and he couldn't have chosen any better, no matter how hard he tried. And oh boy, did he try!

Viewers can relate to the French Bulldog's indecisiveness as well as his gentle demeanor. Even if he doesn't play with toys like a 'normal' dog does, there's no doubt he finds comfort in the fluffy plush lamb that his mom pulled from the shelf.
"I love my new Lamb Chop," wrote @goodboyemmett in the comment section. "Thanks, Mom and Dad!" Wait--who's behind this new account? It's still Emmett, Mom, and Dad, but now the rescue dog has his very own account where his fans can keep up with his adventures!
Why Is Lamb Chop Popular Among Dogs?
As many of the video's commenters were quick to point out, this newly adopted dog isn't the first to gravitate toward Lamb Chop. This beloved TV character has been around for decades, though it's difficult to pinpoint why exactly this puppet became a popular dog toy.
The variety in textures on this fluffy toy is definitely mentally stimulating to dogs, as are the stuffing and squeaker hidden inside. Dog owners may choose this toy over another plushie due to its familiar (and adorable) image, but why do dogs gravitate toward Lamb Chop? We may never know!
