Richland 200: Athletes ranked 161-170 set for big fall sports seasons

MANSFIELD — It won't take long to get an eye on most of the athletes in this edition of the Richland 200.

Most, if not all, of the athletes ranked 161-170 participate in a fall sport and excel. Let's take a look at this batch of Richland 200 athletes as we hit the 40 mark.

161. Brady Fletcher, Ontario

Fletcher was part of the Ontario Warriors' state-qualifying 4x200 squad that ran a 1:30.61 in the Division II state track championship prelims finishing with the 12th-fastest time at the meet. He joined Quinton Frankhouse, Grady Muncy and Bodpegn Miller on the relay, which broke the school record at the regional meet. Fletcher will join Muncy and Miller on the team next year as they look to get back to state and grab a top 8 spot for All-Ohio honors.

162. Dylan Burge, Crestview

As a sophomore football player, Burge led the Cougars in tackles with 126 as a defensive back. He had four tackles for loss, eight pass break-ups, two interceptions and a forced fumble, which was enough to earn him honorable mention All-Northwest District honors in Division VI. He was also a district qualifying wrestler going 18-22 on the season and 1-2 in the Division III district tournament. Back for his junior year, watch for Burge to explode onto the scenes in both football and wrestling.

163. Trenton Weaver, Crestview

Weaver earned first team All-District and first team All-Mid-Buckeye Conference honors for his junior soccer season. The Cougars might have gone 3-13-1 during the 2023 season, but with a senior defender back like Weaver, the Cougars should be in great shape heading into 2024.

Madison's Jada Neal is the No. 164 ranked athlete heading into the 2024-25 season.

164. Jada Neal, Madison

As a sophomore soccer player, Neal scored four goals and added four assists for the Rams, which earned her honorable mention All-District honors in Division II. She helped the Rams win the Ohio Cardinal Conference and Division II district championship making a run to the regional finals in the process. With two years left, Neal is about to blossom into one of the premier players in Richland County and with the loss of their main goal scorer, the Rams will need her to step into a much bigger role in 2024.

165. Liam Beer, Clear Fork

Beer scored just one goal for the Clear Fork boys soccer team in 2023, but it was his defense and leadership on that side of the pitch that led the Colts to a 10-7-1 record and a second team All-District and first team All-Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference caliber season. The Colts were super young last year and with Beer back, they should have plenty of leadership heading into 2024.

166. Bronson Frost, Clear Fork

Frost had one goal and one assist for the Colts' soccer team in 2023. Like Beer, Frost brought the energy on the defensive side of the pitch helping them record six shutouts and four one-goal games. The Colts should be pretty tough defensively in 2024 especially with Frost, who earned second team All-District and first team All-MOAC last year, returning.

167. Kade Beachy, Clear Fork

As a freshman, Beachy scored six goals and handed out six assists for the Colts. As previously stated, the Colts were very young last year, and Beachy was one of those youngsters who showed a ton of promise. He earned second team All-District and second team All-MOAC last season.

168. Emma Montgomery, Shelby

As a junior last year, Montgomery qualified for the state swim meet in the 200-yard freestyle taking 25th in the prelims with a time of 1:59.52. She also took 19th in the 500-yard freestyle prelims with a time of 5:19.61. She also qualified for the state cross country meet finishing 80th in Division II with a time of 20:11.8. She narrowly missed out on qualifying for state in track, too, but is no stranger to that meet after getting there as a sophomore on a relay team. Her senior year could be very special as a three-sport state qualifier.

169. Olivia Grant, Crestview

Grant scored five goals and added two assists for the Crestview girls soccer team last year earning second team All-District and second team All-Mid-Buckeye Conference for her efforts. The Cougars had a bit of a down year going 5-13, but with Grant back, they should be able to flip that record around in 2024.

Ontario's Jakiah Trammel is the No. 170 athlete in the Richland 200.

170. Jakiah Trammel, Ontario

Trammel is going to be one of the premier soccer defenders in Richland County in 2024. Last year, she scored a goal and handed out four assists while also helping the defense post eight shutouts and six one-goal games against one of the toughest schedules around. Trammel earned honorable mention All-District and honorable mention All-MOAC for her efforts and will be the heart and soul of the defense in 2024.
