Road rage turns violent with shooting on I-5 in Lane County

A Washington man was arrested in Lane County on Thursday for shooting at a car while driving along Interstate 5 at milepost 197 south of Armitage County Park.

According to the Oregon State Police, the reporting party was engaged in a road rage incident when the driver of a white Mazda SUV brandished a firearm and discharged it at the victim's vehicle before fleeing southbound on I-5.

With the help of the Lane County Sheriff's Office, troopers located the Mazda and the driver, identified as Evgenii Denisov, 21, was arrested.

Denisov was arraigned on Friday in Lane County Circuit Court on one count of Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, three counts of Menacing, and three counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
