Rottweiler 'Engages Brakes' and Refuses to Go on Walk Without Mom

Although Rottweilers might appear tough and fearless, they are actually one of the most sensitive and gentle breeds. They bond deeply with their humans and have an innate ability to connect with our emotions. Their unwavering loyalty and intelligence only add to their charm. However, they can be a tad stubborn, and with their incredible strength, it’s hard to make them do anything they don’t want to.

This funny boy is a perfect example of being an unmovable force. Watch how he calmly refused to go on his walk in this video shared on August 30:

If you’ve ever loved a Rottweiler, you know Dyce’s (@dycederottweiler) behavior is totally on-brand for the breed. They are experts at getting whatever they want whenever they want it. Here, this handsome boy isn’t going out without his mom, and he made that quite clear to his Dad. However, once she joined them outside, he hopped up and happily began his stroll. LOL! He’s not embarrassed about being a mama’s boy one bit, and he’s pleased to have gotten his way. With the loyalty, laughter, and love our pups provide, it’s easy to accept their demands.

Are Rottweilers Hard to Train?

Although Rottweilers can be strong-willed, they are easy to train once they understand what you want. The training also becomes more manageable when you know what motivates them. Despite being large and powerful, Rottweilers are emotional and respond best to positive training methods. They are quick learners, so starting obedience and socialization at a young age is essential to prevent unwanted behaviors. These beautiful dogs can quickly steal your heart, and any effort put into teaching proper manners is always worthwhile.

Pet parents were familiar with this funny situation. Viewer @mrswattan responded, “Hahaha, my Rottie baby won’t go outside to use the bathroom without me, and he won’t go out for daddy.” They always have a way of getting what they want. Viewer @ojai.lynne reported, “My boy did this to my husband. He would only go for about the length of two houses and had to come home if I didn’t join. He was my heart.” They are a special breed. Another person shared, “My Rottweiler doesn’t want to come home after her walk, lol. She drops to the ground as soon as we approach our street.” Ha! They all seem to understand it’s hard to move them when they don’t want to go.

While it can frustrate us when our dogs don’t do as we ask, the situation must always be considered. It’s hard to be upset when our loyal pal simply doesn’t want to leave us behind.
