We all have our favorite routines and habits. But that goes double for a senior pig at The Gentle Barn sanctuary in Tennessee, Henry. The pig receives the best care there and they even recently gave a sneak peak into the little niceties that Henry likes best.

Henry had a long and difficult journey before arriving at The Gentle Barn. Which is why everyone at the facility agrees he deserves the very best.

As Henry gets older his needs will change. Luckily he has an entire staff of people around him more than willing to cater to his every whim.

Like the way staff takes care of Henry in the hot and cold. As the video shows, someone always makes sure to bring the pig a blanket when he's cold and put some protectant on his ears when it's sunny.

The pig's nails are always trimmed and he gets special bedtime tuck-ins so he can get a good night's sleep. All in all, it's not too shabby for a senior pig!

People in the comments section were so happy that Henry is so well-loved. "Thank you for what you and the love you give," one commenter praised. "Awww... and the bedtime tuck-ins," another person praised. "They should all live this happy and free life," one commenter pointed out. "Oh my goodness he's such a big beautiful boy! I love how much you love him!" someone else exclaimed.

Henry’s Difficult Past

Henry's story didn't start off so lux. According to the caption of the video, Henry was first found with his brother in some dire circumstances.

"Many years ago, Henry and his brother Horton were found running down the street, emaciated, covered in ticks, and terrified; clearly escaping an undesirable fate," the caption states.

But even after they found the brothers, things weren't easy. "It took us months to gain their trust when they first arrived at The Gentle Barn Tennessee," they wrote.

"Sadly, Horton grew very fast and developed mobility issues," they explained. After his brother's death, Henry went on to become the father figure of their pig herd. "As the elder pig, he disciplines the others as well as dotes on them. But he also has his own clubhouse in the woods to retreat to when he needs some space, where we bring him his favorite acorns that we gather nearby."

These days, Henry lives the good life. He gets plenty of attention and rest. Or as the sanctuary themselves said: "We'll always do everything we can to keep Henry and all our senior animals happy and comfortable." A promise we're confident they'll keep.
