Taylor Swift's primary focus may be music, but that hasn't stopped her from dabbling in other media. Her first onscreen acting role — where she wasn't playing herself, anyway — was in a 2009 episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. She has occasionally returned to the world of TV and film, whenever she finds time between performing at sold-out stadiums and recording album after album. While many of her film choices have not been well-received by critics, it's always interesting to see such a famous figure flexing her acting muscles.

Here are all of Swift's onscreen roles thus far, from most recent to earliest.

Swift was part of the star-studded cast of David O. Russell's Amsterdam alongside Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington. Her part was ultimately a small one, playing Elizabeth, a woman who suspects her father was murdered and enlists the help of a lawyer (Washington) and doctor (Bale) to prove it. Upon meeting the duo, Elizabeth is shockingly pushed by a hitman into traffic and killed, a startling moment for Swifties and moviegoers alike. —Kevin Jacobsen

Taylor Swift's most high-profile role to date is also the one that puts her singing chops to good use. As Bombalurina in 2019's Cats, Swift gets to inform all of the Jellicle cats about the dastardly Macavity in her jazzy number, "Macavity: The Mystery Cat."

In 2013, the pop star had a guest-starring spot on the season 2 finale of one of her favorite shows, New Girl. She played Elaine, an important guest at Cece (Hannah Simone) and Shivrang's (Satya Bhabha) wedding. Her appearance was the culmination of a bit of a running joke on the show, which name-checked Swift numerous times.
