These Shows Like 'Cobra Kai' Will Keep You Company After the Series Finale

This is truly the year of Cobra Kai. The sixth and final season hit Netflix in July, but luckily, it's being split up into three parts! That gives you a few more chances to say goodbye to your favorite characters. The second part premieres in November, with the third (and ultimately last episodes of the show) to be released at some point in 2025. If you find yourself growing a little sad that it's all coming to an end, we hear you! Luckily for you, we compiled a list of shows that are similar to Cobra Kai all of which showcase martial arts, a zany sense of humor, a nostalgia for the '80s—or all three!
There's Kickin' It, a wholesome show on Disney+ that follows teenagers who learn karate in their local strip mall. Another show called Into the Badlands touches on spiritual enlightenment and self-work, both of which are important teachings for the students of Cobra Kai and everyone else in the community. Other shows like Glow and Friday Night Lights evoke a familiar sense of hometown pride and nostalgia.
All of these TV shows are worth watching. Now, all that's left to do is wait for the entirety of season 6! (Because why? Cobra Kai never dies!)

Umbrella Academy
Like Cobra Kai, this show focuses on a young group of kids who know a thing or two about fighting. The difference is, though, that these kids are siblings, and they all have super powers. They must learn to come together and use their powers for good.

Fans of martial arts television and film will love this one. A chef lives a regular life until he gets involved with the Triad gangs of San Francisco. This happens after he mysteriously obtains an ancient power known as Wu Xing. It turns out that he's the latest "Wu Assassin," a title passed on to only the chosen.
Into the Badlands
Follow along as a warrior and his young student embark on a quest through the Badlands, a post-apocalyptic area that only the brave dare to enter. This show is full of spiritual enlightenment and self-work, similar to the teachings the students of Cobra Kai follow.
The Defenders
To all our Marvel fans out there, this one is for you! Though no one in Cobra Kai technically has a superpower, the quest to use their abilities to fight evil will seem all too familiar to fans of the Karate Kid franchise.
Fightworld
Fightworld is a docu-series that follows actor and fight enthusiast Frank Grillo as he tours the globe to understand different fighting styles from different cultures. It covers Krav Maga, Muay Thai, and several localized forms of kickboxing and boxing. Those interested in learning how martial arts extends beyond fighting will appreciate the art this show brings to light.
Warrior
Watching Miguel from Cobra Kai kick a kid through a wall was probably enough to get you hooked on all things martial arts. Well, HBO Max's Warrior is an action drama set in the 1870s and located in San Francisco. It follows a Chinese immigrant who works as the "warrior" for gangs in the infamous Tong Wars.
IP Man
Ip Man is essentially based on the hit movie based in China. It centers around the master of Chinese kung fu (known as Ip Man) and follows his journey as an instructor and how he passes on his teachings to his students.
Glow
GLOW is an American comedy-drama that revolves around a fictionalized version of the 1980s syndicated women's professional wrestling team. It has all the action and '80s nostalgia that Cobra Kai fans crave.
Friday Night Lights
Friday Night Lights is a classic show that centers around a high school football team—which is the town's pride and joy. Similar to Cobra Kai, it's what brings the town together. Though Friday Night Lights is way more intense, it follows a similar storyline in the sense that the sport is what makes the plot.
