Six breweries in MetroWest that are planning Oktoberfest celebrations this fall

Three Marlborough breweries are joining forces for this year's Oktoberfest celebration at Flying Dreams Brewing Company.

Oktoberfest is an annual festival held in Munich, Germany, over two weeks and ending on the first Sunday in October. The festival originated in October 1810 to celebrate the marriage of the crown prince of Bavaria, who later became King Louis I, to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen.

Nearly 4,000 miles from Munich, Flying Dreams, along with Marlborough-based Tackle Box Brewing Company and Lost Shoe Brewing & Roasting Company will pour locally brewed beer and hard seltzer from 1-8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, in Flying Dreams' downtown parking lot.
