Six breweries in MetroWest that are planning Oktoberfest celebrations this fall
Three Marlborough breweries are joining forces for this year's Oktoberfest celebration at Flying Dreams Brewing Company.
Oktoberfest is an annual festival held in Munich, Germany, over two weeks and ending on the first Sunday in October. The festival originated in October 1810 to celebrate the marriage of the crown prince of Bavaria, who later became King Louis I, to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen.
Nearly 4,000 miles from Munich, Flying Dreams, along with Marlborough-based Tackle Box Brewing Company and Lost Shoe Brewing & Roasting Company will pour locally brewed beer and hard seltzer from 1-8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, in Flying Dreams' downtown parking lot.

In addition to the Marlborough-made beer, restaurants such as The Horseshoe Pub & Restaurant (Hudson), Lalo's Mexican Restaurant (Marlborough and Hudson) and others will offer German food and other fare. Live music and a stein holding competition are also planned.
Online ticket sales close at noon on Friday, Sept. 27; general admission and VIP tickets are available. In addition, cheaper designated driver and tickets for people under 21 are for sale. A portion of sales will be donated to the Marlborough Community Cupboard.
