Soup dumpling alert: Six kinds of the delicacy known as soup dumplings, heretofore elusive in Columbus, can be had at the new CoCo Hot Pot on Bethel Road.

CoCo Hot Pot expands space and menu

The shops at Olentangy Plaza continue to offer exciting new options for authentic East Asian food. CoCo Hot Pot recently expanded to open CoCo Cuisine next door at 751 Bethel Road, in the space that formerly housed Plato's Closet. The restaurant will offer dim sum, with six styles of house-made soup dumplings—steamed dumplings filled with meats and hot broth—serving as the menu's centerpiece. Husband-and-wife owners Tony Jiang and Mandy Lin hired four chefs specializing in Cantonese dishes for the new restaurant, according to a release. Jiang also will assist in the kitchen. "I want to give people a nice experience," he says. The shopping center also is home to the new Dayou International Market.

Three Bites Bakery and Little Cat Boba open shared space

After announcing plans in April to combine Three Bites Bakery and Little Cat Boba, the businesses recently soft opened their new shared space at 12 E. Broad St. The grand opening is scheduled at 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to an Instagram post from Downtown Columbus Inc. Arrive early for a a gift bag from The Brass Hand and the best chance to snag your favorite fresh baked good.

Fogo de Chao signs lease for Polaris restaurant

Fogo de Chão, a Brazilian Steakhouse, recently signed a lease for its first Midwestern location. The restaurant will open in late 2024 in Polaris Town Center. The space will feature a grill in the center, so guests throughout the building can watch their food being cooked over an open flame. "We have long anticipated expanding our presence into the state of Ohio and are excited to share our authentic culinary experience from Brazil with the Columbus community soon," Barry McGowan, CEO of Fogo de Chão, said in a release.

Vegan pop-up food truck rolls into town

Vuture Food, a Los Angeles-based vegan food truck making stops across the country this summer, will be in town today from 4-8 p.m. at Spires Social Brewing Co. at 8757 Sancus Blvd. near Polaris. The "Vegan Junk Food Pop-Up" will feature Vuture's acclaimed Crispy Chick'n Sandwiches. Learn more and RSVP for the event on Facebook.
