How South Carolina's Dawn Staley reacted to A'ja Wilson's '2K25' WNBA cover

COLUMBIA — It's just another Wednesday for most, but for A'ja Wilson, the former South Carolina women's basketball star and current Las Vegas Aces champion, it's another record-breaking day.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that Wilson will be on the cover of "NBA 2K25's" WNBA edition, and will be on the cover of "NBA 2K25" All-Star edition alongside Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum. Both editions drop Sept. 6.

Wilson's appearance with Tatum on the All-Star edition marks the first time a WNBA player will be featured on the cover of the global edition of the game. The WNBA edition is available for purchase only in the United States and Canada.

South Carolina coach Dawn Staley didn't hold back from praising Wilson online following the news, writing on X, formerly known as Twitter:

"Do it do it do it," Staley wrote. "Super proud of you for raising the bar on and off the court! A true blessing to see your uncommon favor displayed."

This is also the first time in the video game's history that the cover features both a WNBA and NBA player. Both Tatum and Wilson play for their league's current reigning champions, as Tatum won with the Celtics in June, and Wilson won with the Aces in October 2023.

The news comes just days after Wilson became the Aces' all-time leading scorer on Sunday night. Her 28-point performance in the 104-85 win over the Dallas Wings at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas pushed her career total to 4,301, passing Sophia Young-Malcolm (4,300).
