St. Cloud motorcycle accident causes fatality

ST. CLOUD -- A 19-year-old Waite Park resident, was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of 29th Avenue and South Second Street.

The two motorcycles were headed east on South 2nd Street when they collided, according to the St. Cloud Police Department media release. From there, one motorcycle driver, Kaden Johnson, lost control and crashed into a traffic signal pole on the intersection's southeast side, according to the report.

First responders arrived at the scene shortly after 1:15 p.m. The police department was assisted by the St. Cloud Fire Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Mayo Ambulance.

The other motorcyclist was treated and released for minor injuries at CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital.

The accident is currently under investigation.
