Who Should be the Standard-Times Fan Favorite Athlete of the Year?

Beginning in August the Standard-Times recognized some of the top high school performances by soliciting nominations and naming finalists for the Standard-Times Athlete of the Week.

Weekly voting lasted throughout the school year and produced 27 Athletes of the Week.

Now readers can choose from those honorees to name a Standard-Times Fan Favorite High School Athlete of the Year.

Voting will be broken down over three weeks beginning May 28 and will run Tuesday through Friday each week with voting wrapping up at 2 p.m. every Friday. The 14 athletes who receive the most votes this week will advance to the second round of voting beginning June 4. The eight athletes with the most votes from the second week advance to the final week of voting.

Voting totals will reset each week.

The athletes represent schools of every size across West Texas. The Standard-Times Fan Favorite Athlete of the Year will be voted on and selected from the eight finalists beginning June 11.

Each athlete is listed alphabetically with their accomplishments for the week they were chosen Athlete of the Week. Take a look at the 27 finalists and vote below for the 2024 Standard-Times Fan Favorite High School Athlete of the Year.
