Stefan Schroffner announced this week he has stepped down as head coach of the Marist Catholic softball program after four seasons.

"For now, as much as I love coaching Marist softball, I've decided that the time is right to spend more time with family and go back to being a softball parent, fan, and one-sport (soccer) coach again," Schroffner wrote in an email on Friday.

Schroffner will continue to coach the Spartans girls soccer team, a position he has held since 2019.

During Schroffner's softball tenure, Marist went 70-32, including a non-OSAA-sanctioned 4A state title in 2021 and state runner-up finish in 2022. The Spartans were also two-time league champions and made playoff appearances in 2023 and earlier this year.

"I am humbled and honored to have had the opportunity to coach a softball program with a proud tradition of excellence, and I look forward to passing the coaching torch to the next head coach of Marist Softball," Schroffner added.
