Storms likely Friday evening in Greater Cincinnati ahead of high school football

While the Greater Cincinnati area may be doused with much-needed rain late Friday afternoon, it also might affect some high school football games.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington said showers and thunderstorms are likely in the late afternoon heading into the early evening, mainly before 9 p.m. Damaging winds are expected to be the main threat, although marginally large hail may also occur.

Temperatures are expected to be in the low 80s in the late afternoon, but the storms will likely cool things down into the high 60s by 8 p.m., according to the weather service.
