Stranger Things star David Harbour's new show has received a US release date.

Kicking off the DCU's TV series, Creature Commandos will focus on a colourful gang of military superhumans. The animated show will star Harbour as the voice of Frankenstein.

After receiving a December release window, the series has now been confirmed for a December 5 release date on Max in the US. A UK release date is yet to be announced.

According to Variety, new episodes will be released every Thursday on the streaming service. The seven-episode season will conclude on January 16.

Creature Commandos will see "a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans." The logline continues: "When all else fails… they're your last, worst option."

DC boss James Gunn serves as writer and executive producer on the project. Meanwhile, the show also boasts a star-studded cast.

Harbour is joined by Steve Agee (Economos), Maria Bakalova (Princess Ilana), Frank Grillo (Rick Flag Sr.), Sean Gunn (GI Robot & Weasel), Indira Varma (The Bride), and Viola Davis (Amanda Waller).

The Witcher's Anya Chalotra (sorceress Circe), The Afterparty's Zoë Chao (Nina Mazursky), and Wish's Alan Tudyk (Doctor Phosphorus) also star.

In other DCU news, Gunn recently revealed that the Green Lantern show has been given a full season order. The series, titled Laterns will stream on Max, with casting yet to be announced.

Creature Commandos will premiere on Max on December 5 in the US.

Stranger Things seasons 1-4 are streaming on Netflix. A fifth and final season is in production. Stranger Things: The First Shadow is now booking until February 2025 at the Phoenix Theatre in London. Tickets are available now. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is released in cinemas on September 6.
